TAX YEAR (TY) 2022 OVERVIEW- For TY2022, Poway TCE, previously Poway AARP Tax-Aide, will again be located at Poway's Mickey Cafagna Community Center (MCCC) located at 13094 Civic Center Drive. Service will be by appointment only on Tues, Weds, and Thurs from 11:30 AM- 4:30 PM starting January 31, 2023.. Please schedule an appointment online below.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION- Important information regarding our tax preparation process and your appointment is provided in the documents provided below. Please read those that apply to you prior to scheduling an appointment as there are limitations on which tax return situations we can handle per TCE program guidelines. Please note that total yearly income must be less than $200K to use the TCE service. The information provided also details what should be done prior to arriving for your appointment. If you wish to fill out your information intake form prior to coming to your appointment, please download the form from the link below. If you do not fill out the form prior to coming to your appointment, please arrive at MCCC at least 20 minutes early so that you can complete the form prior to your scheduled appointment time.
APPOINTMENTS Appointments are for 1 hour and begin at 11:30 AM, 12:45, 2:00, and 3:15 PM on T, W, and Th starting 1/31/2023. There isn't an age requirement for using our service. However, under TCE program guidelines, if appointment slots begin to fill, taxpayers 55 and over will be prioritized. You are encouraged to schedule an appointment as soon as you have all necessary documentation to avoid potentially being unable to get an appointment. Since appointments are for 1 hour, if you have a more complex return (more than 15 pages of tax documentation), please schedule 2 consecutive appointments to avoid having to come back at another time to finish.
